Position Description:
The Data Warehouse Developer will be responsible for the design, development, support and maintenance of data warehouse/data mart applications. The candidate must have hands on experience and knowledge of Oracle and Datawarehouse. Ideally, the candidate should have prior experience in development and support of financial applications.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is proactive and energetic with a “can do’ attitude.
This position reports to the Data Warehouse Development Manager.
Experience:
1) Strong knowledge of star, snowflake schemas and multidimensional databases is required.
2) Experience in development of data warehouses, knowledge of online analytical processing (OLAP) tools and data-mining software
3) 5 years professional experience of the full software development lifecycle
4) 4 years hands-on experience in data warehouse / data mart development on an Oracle platform
5) 2 years experience in reporting solutions.
6) Experience with Oracle 10g/11g and/or Sybase 12.5
7) Develop, design, and systems integrate projects from definition phase through implementation
8) Knowledge of logical and physical database design
9) Understanding of database performance issues especially on the Oracle platform
10) Knowledge of capacity planning and performance testing of databases a plus
11) Domain knowledge and experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus
12) Working knowledge of Java
13) Experience using Maven, Subversion and Cruise Control or similar build/version control products
14) Familiarity in working on NT and Unix operating systems
Education:
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience. Any certifications a plus.
