Marine Superintendent

The Marine Superintendent working under the direction of the Director of Fleet Operations provides functional support to vessel Masters and Chief Officers will work to enhance and reinforce a safety culture on all vessels as well as other divisions of the Operations Department.
As an effective communicator the successful candidate will act as liaison between ship management and shore personnel and will also enhance communication with ship's crew.
Qualifications:
Citizenship: Canadian or legally permitted to work in Canada
Language proficiency: English spoken and written
Candidates will have as a minimum, a Master Near Coastal Certificate or equivalent, a Master Mariner Certificate will be considered an asset and must have sailed in a Senior officer role for a minimum of 5 years, preferably as Master.
The successful candidate will have experience in financial and human resources management and in addition must demonstrate strong communication skills both written and oral with the ability to act as a spokesperson when dealing with crew and shore based employees.
Experience working with passenger vessels is an asset. Applicants will be computer literate and comfortable with applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and project. Experience in drydocks and vessel inspections will also be an asset.
