Position: Project Manager
Location: Fredericton, NB
Term: Mid-August, 2012 - July 31, 2014
Our Fredericton client needs an experienced Project Manager to support various health related project initiatives.
This resource will be responsible for all aspects (activities and deliverables) of Project Management
within the client’s Project Management framework.
DETAILED ACTIVITIES:
o Project scope, schedule and cost management using project management methodologies and procedures from project initiation to close-out;
o Project timeline and resource planning and monitoring;
o Budget planning and monitoring;
o Communication planning, coordinating and implementation;
o Issue and risk management to address areas of concern, changes in scope, and budget overruns etc.;
o Team management; including external and internal resources;
o Quality assurance methodologies and procedures to verify the quality of deliverables and to verify that deliverables meet requirements;
o Management of Project Execution activities (Change Control, Issue/Risk Management, Project Team Coordination, Implementation and Transition); and
o Preparation and presentation of project status reports to management, Steering Committee etc.;
o Presentations to external stakeholders, special interest groups, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Resource should have the following demonstrable experience:
Demonstrated experience with Health initiatives.
Experience in project activities from initiation to close out. (i.e. scope, schedule, resource and cost management);
Experience in specific project execution activities, including issue/risk management, change control, implementation and transition;
Communication planning, coordinating and implementation. Including presentations to both internal and external stake holders;
The Project Manager shall have a demonstrated capability of managing a team of specialists, system analysts and programmers on information technology development projects;
Experience in security relating to data confidentiality and client privacy issues in application design and development;
Experience in deploying large applications through various environments or sites such as System Test, User Acceptance Testing and/or Production;
Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Visio, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint;
Written and spoken competency in English is required;
Mandatory Education/Experience:
The Project Manager should have an undergraduate university degree in Computer Science or related discipline or certification in Information Technology.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered;
The Project Manager must have seven (7) years of recent Project Management experience;
At least 10 years of IM/IT experience.
